Description

Guest Room At Matsuzakaya Honten

Location: Hakone

Welcome to Matsuzakaya Honten. This Modern Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below) was first built in 1662 and has been recently remodeled. Set in a large Japanese garden, Matsuzakaya Honten has Japanese-style rooms and many (not all) guest rooms have their own private bath and toilet. The baths in the guest rooms are all hot spring baths. There is a "hanare" (private guest residence) at Matsuzakaya Honten as well. Shared indoor hot spring baths are provided for both women and men. Check-in time is at 15:00 (3:00 pm) and check-out time is before 10:00am. Parking is available. Important Travel Warning: It takes a long time to go through customs at Narita International Airport and then travel to Hakone. If your plane lands in the early morning at Narita International Airport, you can make it to a Hakone ryokan in time for dinner. However, if your plane arrives after 10:00am you WILL NOT be able to make it in time for dinner. You should stay at least 1 night in Tokyo and then go to Hakone the next day.
