Description

Shunkoso

Location: Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture

Welcome to Shunkoso. This Traditional Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below) is one of the most economical ryokans of our Hakone ryokans. As a result, guests will find that Shunkoso is an older, run-down building in need of renovations here and there and it is located in a non-descript setting. However, the staff is very helpful and some English is spoken. There are 23 traditional Japanese-style rooms, all of which have private toilets and hot spring baths. Shared indoor and outdoor hot spring baths (same gender only) are also available at Shunkoso. The women's hot spring bath is made out of stone, and the men's hot spring bath has a view of the mountains. Shunkoso serves Japanese-style meals in the guest rooms. For the guest's dining pleasure, there is also a Japanese-style tea room and a Japanese noodle shop. Check-in time is after 15:00 and check-out time is before 10:00 am. Parking is available. Important Travel Warning: It takes a long time to go through customs at Narita International Airport and then travel to Hakone. If your plane lands in the early morning at Narita International Airport, you can make it to a Hakone ryokan in time for dinner. However, if your plane arrives after 10:00 am you WILL NOT be able to make it in time for dinner. You should stay at least 1 night in Tokyo and then go to Hakone the next day.
