Description

Asakichi (courtesy of LS&RI, Washington, DC, USA)

Location: Ise, Mie Prefecture

Welcome to Asakichi. This Traditional Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below) has been in operation since the mid-1700s. Asakichi is built on a steep slope and from the distance it looks like a 5 story structure. There are Japanese style guest rooms as well as shared baths for both women and men (same sex only). Traditional Japanese-style cusine is served to the guests at Asakichi. Traditional furniture and tableware is also on display which shows local daily life from many years ago. Check-in time is from 16:00 and check-out time is before 10:00 am.
