Location: Shiobara Onsen (Shiobara Hot Spring), Tochigi Prefecture
Welcome to Gensenkan. This Modern Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below) has a 3 story "Honkan" building and a 2 storey "Bekkan" building. There are 35 Japanese and Western-style rooms at Gensenkan, and 26 of the rooms have their own private bath and toilet. There are 4 shared indoor and outdoor hot spring baths for both women and men (same gender only). The outdoor and the large indoor hot spring baths are open from 6:00 am to 23:00. The other two hot spring baths are open from 15:00 to 9:00 am. There is also an indoor mixed hot spring rock bath (both men and women bathe together). Gensenkan serves local, seasonal meals to the guests, including various Japanese hot pot dishes. Check-in time is after 15:00 and check-out time is before 10:00 am. Parking is available. | Directions: From Tokyo train station, take the Tohoku Shinkansen (Bullet Train) to Nasu Shiobara train station. At Nasu Shiobara train station, take the JR Bus to Furumachi bus stop. It is a 3 minute walk from the bus stop to Gensenkan. |
