Welcome to Amagiso. What makes this Modern Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below) unique are the countless indoor and outdoor hot spring baths. Indeed, guests could probably spend days exploring all of the 28 hot spring baths at Amagiso. The numerous baths include indoor baths, outdoor baths, cave baths, waterfall baths, a hot spring swimming pool (winter only), rock baths, family baths (where families can bathe privately), and many others. The outdoor hot spring baths are mixed (both genders) but everyone must wear bathing suits. The indoor hot spring baths are same gender only and no swimming suits are allowed. The indoor baths and Family Baths are open 24 hours a day. The outdoor baths are open until 23:00 and all are mixed baths. In the day, guests must wear a bathing suit but at night you have the option of not wearing a bathing suit. Amagiso is a large, 3 story, modern ryokan with 44 Japanese-style rooms, and many of the rooms have their own private baths and toilets. Some rooms have both indoor and private outdoor hot spring baths as well. In February, the cherry blossoms are in bloom and the shuttle bus can take you to see them. In summer, the shuttle bus will take you to the beach (9:30 departure; 15:30 pick up). There is a hiking path which ends at Otaki (the biggest waterfall) which is 30 meters high; there is a shuttle bus which will take you to the start of the hiking path and then you can walk back to Otaki and Amagiso. Traditional Japanese cuisine is served to the guests. Check-in time is after 14:00 and check-out time is before 10:00 am. Parking is available. English is spoken.
