Tsuwabukitei

Location: Heda Onsen (Heda Hot Spring), Shuzenji, Shizuoka Prefecture

Welcome to Tsuwabukitei. This Modern Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below) has 25 Japanese-style guest rooms,12 with private baths and toilets (not hot spring baths) and 13 with private toilets only. Tsuwabukitei has 11 different kinds of indoor and outdoor hot spring baths for both women and men (same gender only) - the outdoor baths have great views of Suruga Bay. There is also a family hot spring bath which can be reserved at the front desk (please inquire during check-in), and two shower baths (same gender only). All of the hot spring baths are open most hours of the day except early morning hours. Fresh seafood is served to guests at Tsuwabukitei. Check-in time is after 15:00 and check-out time is before 10:00. Parking is available.

Directions: From Shuzenji train station (on the Izu Hakone Rail Line), take the bus to Heda and get off at Heda-ko (Final bus stop - takes about 50 minutes). If you call the ryokan before getting on the bus, they can meet you at the bus stop and drive you to the ryokan (otherwise, it is a 30-40 minute walk from the bus stop to Tsuwabakitei). Please note that there are only 2 buses a day to Heda-ko from Shuzenji (please check the bus time table for each day), and also that the pick-up service is only available starting at 14:30. By taxi, it is a 40 minute ride from Shuzenji train station to Tsuwabukitei.
