Sake Tasting

Saké Appreciation

Enjoy sake tasting at Horino Memorial Museum, which used to produce one of the highest quality sake brands in Japan. The museum is housed in the founder's home where he also brewed saké. First you will taken on a tour of the old wooden house. The house has many rooms and our staff will explain to you about the material used for wall and floor of each room as well as the purposed of the rooms. In the courtyard garden, you can find pure water springing up from a well which has never stopped for over 200 years. This water has been used for making high quality sake and beer and you can try some if you wish. After the tour of the house you will have a chance to sample a few glasses of saké and a snack. (Please note that the saké tasting may be done before the tour of the house, depending on the schedule of the museum)
