The profitable resources recovery of oil from tank bottoms along with solving an environmental problem by processing and minimising waste, presents arguably one of the most technically demanding applications for separation technology.

The Technology offered is an integration of proven patented and proprietary process techniques. Employing separation principles, Vac-Tech has selected, designed and engineered our equipment to overcome the broad variations found in sludge compositions from tank bottoms. The process is a state-of-the-art closed loop system prudently managed to achieve high productivity while providing waste minimization and maximum resource recovery.

The separation is normally achieved within two thermo-mechanical processes. The sludge is initially prepared via heat transfer reducing viscosity and pumped through a primary filtration unit. The sludge then enters the pre-process tank where it is homogenized and conditioned via gun line mechanical agitators with recirculating abilities. The sludge is then pumped to the second separation phase. Centrifugal forces are employed, separating solids and liquids. The solids are suitable for land farm, while the liquid is returned to the client suitable for reuse.
