Marukoma

Location: Lake Shikotsu, Hokkaido

Welcome to Marukoma. Located on the scenic shores of Lake Shikotsu at Marukoma Onsen (Marukoma Hot Spring), this three storey Modern Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below) offers guests spectacular views of the surrounding lake and mountains. There are traditional 46 Japanese-style guests rooms at Marukoma (plus 1 Western-style room and 4 special rooms). Marukoma has 2 indoor hot spring baths, one for women and one for men. Each bath holds up to 60 guests and the baths are open from 4:00am to 11:00pm. There are also 2 outdoor hot spring baths at Marukoma, one for women and one for men. The women's bath holds up to 20 guests and the men's bath holds up to 25 guests. Both outdoor baths have views of Lake Shikotsu. and they are open 24 hours a day. There is also a "Family Bath" which means if no one is using the hot spring bath, then a family can hang a sign and bathe privately. Fresh, seasonal local cuisine is served to Marukoma’s guests.

Directions: It is a 90 minute bus ride from JR Sapporo train station bus terminal to Lake Shikotsu. From Lake Shikotsu bus terminal it is a 20 minute ride to Marukoma Onsen (Hot Spring). There is a pick-up service from Lake Shikotsu bus.
