Description

Entrance to Ikumatsu's Honkan

Location: Kyoto

Welcome to Ikumatsu. This Modern Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below), originally built in 1810, has a long and famous history. In fact, some areas of the ryokan have been deemed historical cultural properties. Ikumatsu has two main buildings - a "honkan" (original building) and a "nishikan" (west building or annex). The honkan is a traditional style building and it has 8 Japanese-style guest rooms, while the nishikan is more of a European style has 5 Japanese style guest rooms as well as a large combined Western and Japanese style deluxe suite. There is a large shared bath (same gender only) which can be privately reserved (please ask for details when checking in). Dinner is Japanese style but breakfast is either Japanese or Western style. From May 1 to September 31, guests can dine on the outdoor terrace overlooking the Kamogawa River. Check-in time is after 16:00 and check-out time is before 10:00 am. Unfortunately, parking is not available.
