Description

Tamahan

Location: Kyoto

Welcome to Tamahan. This Traditional Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below) is located in the historical Gion section of Kyoto. Many years ago Tamahan was originally a summer home of a stock trader who lived in Osaka. Tamahan first opened for business in 1929 as an ryokan specializing in Kyoto cuisine. This ryokan has continued this tradition, and today it is still serving the same high quality Kyoto cuisine. Tamahan is a special ryokan, unlike most ryokans in Japan, appealing to a certain kind of guest. It is a very, very traditional Japanese ryokan with the privacy of the guests being of utmost importance. According to the traditional Japanese style the staff at Tamahan provide minimal contact with their guests, allowing the guests the time to relax and unwind. Tamahan is quiet and peaceful, and highly recommended to guests who value their privacy. There are 11 traditional Japanese-style rooms at Tamahan. Guests can leave their luggage at the hotel prior to check-in and after checking out. Check-in time is after 15:00 and check-out time is before 10:00am. Some English is spoken. (For people with allergies, please be careful because this ryokan has a pet cat). If you request a reservation at Tamahan, please use a VISA or MasterCard - this ryokan does not deal with American Express or other credit cards.
