(subject to change and based on Japan Standard Time)

If you need to cancel a reservation, please e-mail us as soon as possible.
If you do not receive a cancellation notice from us, your reservation has NOT been cancelled.
If you do not receive a cancellation notice, please contact us again.
Please do not contact the ryokan. Thank you.

  1. If you are having dinner at the ryokan, please try to check in by 17:30 (5:30pm). It is important you arrive at this time so they can serve your dinner fresh. You will be dining on Japanese cuisine, and it is important when dining on Japanese food that all meals be served immediately after they are prepared. Please try to be on time.
  2. The Customer is responsible for paying the following cancellation fees to the Ryokan.

  3. The following charges will be deducted from
    the Customer's credit card by the Ryokan:
    Days before Reservation
    (Japan Standard Time)
    Total Accommodation
    Charges
    5 days No Charge
    4 days 50%
    3 days 70%
    2 days 80%
    1 day or same day 100%

  4. Any cancellation fees will be deducted from the Customer's credit card (payment to J-Payment).
  5. If a Customer does not provide a VALID credit card, then their reservation may be CANCELLED without notice.

For example, a Customer makes a reservation for 5 nights and stays for only 2 nights. The Customer will be charged a 100% cancellation fee for the remaining 3 nights. Please remember that Ryokans are not large businesses and cannot quickly find other Customers to fill an empty room. [Top]
  7. If the Customer wishes to change their reservation (not cancels, but changes the date of their reservation), we need at least 3 business days prior to the reservation date  to contact the ryokan to make the necessary changes. Communication with the customer is by e-mail only, and it takes time to communicate with both the Customer and the ryokan and to work out the reservation changes. [Top]
  8. The Total Accommodation Charges include:
    • The Basic Accommodation Charge (Room Charge, Breakfast, and Dinner)
    • Extra Charges such as Extra Meals & Drinks (Other than Breakfast and Dinner) and Other Expenses
    • Taxes such as Consumption Tax, Hot Spring Tax, and other local taxes. [Top]
  9. Japanese ryokans are an old-fashioned type of business, and credit cards are NOT widely accepted. Many ryokans prefer cash. If cash is required, please pay with JAPANESE CURRENCY (YEN) and at the front desk at the time of the departure of the Customer or upon request by the Ryokan. Traveler's checks are also NOT accepted. Accommodation charges shall be paid even if the Customer voluntarily does not use the Ryokan's  facilities. [Top]
  10. The Ryokan may cancel the Accommodation Contract under any of the following cases:
    • When the Customer has violated the laws or acted against public order or good morals in regard to the accommodation;
    • When the Ryokan is requested to assume an unreasonable burden with regard to the Customer;
    • When the Ryokan is unable to provide accommodation due to natural calamities and/or other causes;
    • When the Customer does not observe prohibited actions such as smoking in bed, mischief to the firefighting facilities and other prohibitions. [Top]

  13. Japanese Guest Houses is not responsible for assisting the Customer who cancels the reservation or does not appear at the Ryokan on the agreed reservation date. Japanese Guest Houses will also not be held responsible for any of the terms listed in Section 5. [Top]
  14. The Customer is responsible for the final details of the reservation. We assume the Customer has read and understood the ryokan's entire web page (photos, description, ryokan facilities, prices and meals, directions) as well as the final confirmation e-mail sent to the Customer which includes the ryokan's name, reservation dates, meals, total price, check-in and check-out times, curfew time, ryokan's telephone number, and directions.
