a Reservation at a Ryokan (Traditional Japanese Inn) Anywhere in Japan |

If you need to cancel a reservation, please e-mail us as soon
as possible.
If you do not receive a cancellation notice from us, your
reservation has NOT been cancelled.
If you do not receive a cancellation notice, please contact us
again.
Please do not contact the ryokan. Thank you.

If you are having dinner at the ryokan,
please try to check in by 17:30 (5:30pm). It is important
you arrive at this time so they can serve your dinner fresh.
You will be dining on Japanese cuisine, and it is important
when dining on Japanese food that all meals be served immediately
after they are prepared. Please try to be on time.

The Customer is responsible for paying the following
cancellation fees to the Ryokan.

- Any cancellation fees will be deducted from the Customer's credit card (payment to J-Payment).
- If a Customer does not provide a VALID credit card, then their
reservation may be CANCELLED without notice.
- If the Customer cancels the remainder of their stay at the Ryokan,
the Customer will be charged a 100% cancellation fee. For example,
a Customer makes a reservation for 5 nights and stays for only 2
nights. The Customer will be charged a 100% cancellation fee for
the remaining 3 nights. Please remember that Ryokans are not large
businesses and cannot quickly find other Customers to fill an empty

- If the Customer wishes to change their reservation (not
cancels, but changes the date of their reservation), we need at
least 3 business days prior to the reservation date to
contact the ryokan to make the necessary changes. Communication
with the customer is by e-mail only, and it takes time to
communicate with both the Customer and the ryokan and to work
out the reservation changes. [Top]
- The Total Accommodation Charges include:
- The Basic Accommodation Charge (Room Charge, Breakfast,
and Dinner)
- Extra Charges such as Extra Meals & Drinks (Other than
Breakfast and Dinner) and Other Expenses
- Taxes such as Consumption Tax, Hot Spring Tax, and other
local taxes. [Top]
- Japanese ryokans are an old-fashioned type of business, and
credit cards are NOT widely accepted. Many ryokans prefer cash. If
cash is required, please pay with JAPANESE CURRENCY (YEN) and at the front desk at the time of the departure of the
Customer or upon request by the Ryokan. Traveler's checks are also
NOT accepted. Accommodation charges
shall be paid even if the Customer voluntarily does not use the Ryokan's
facilities. [Top]
- The Ryokan may cancel the Accommodation Contract under any
of the following cases:
- When the Customer has violated the laws or acted against public
order or good morals in regard to the accommodation;
- When the Ryokan is requested to assume an unreasonable burden
with regard to the Customer;
- When the Ryokan is unable to provide accommodation due to
natural calamities and/or other causes;
- When the Customer does not observe prohibited actions such as
smoking in bed, mischief to the firefighting facilities and
other prohibitions. [Top]
- If you wish to cancel your reservation, please send us an
e-mail as soon as possible. If you do not receive a cancellation
notice from us, your reservation has NOT been cancelled and you
will be held responsible for all no show and cancellation fees. If you do
not receive a cancellation notice, please contact us again. [Top]
- If you do not receive our confirmation e-mail and the
confirmation number, you must contact Japanese Guest Houses again as your reservation may or may not be
confirmed. If it is confirmed you will be held responsible for
all no show and cancellation fees. [Top]
- Japanese Guest Houses is not responsible for assisting the
Customer who cancels the reservation or does not appear at the Ryokan on
the agreed reservation date. Japanese Guest Houses will also not
be held responsible for any of the terms listed in Section 5.

- The Customer is responsible for the final details of the
reservation. We assume the Customer has read and understood the
ryokan's entire web page (photos, description, ryokan facilities,
prices and meals, directions) as well as the final confirmation
e-mail sent to the Customer which includes the ryokan's name,
reservation dates, meals, total price, check-in and check-out times,
curfew time, ryokan's telephone number, and directions. Japanese
Guest Houses makes every effort to ensure the above information is
correct. However, if there are any errors or misunderstanding
it is the responsibility of the customer to contact Japanese Guest
Houses and correct those errors or misunderstandings. [Top]

The Customer is responsible for printing
up and bring all the necessary details of their reservation. The Customer must print up and bring the ryokan's English and
Japanese addresses, map (if available), and directions found
on the ryokan's web page. The Customer must also print up and bring
the final confirmation e-mail which includes the ryokan's
name, reservation dates, meals, total price, check-in and check-out
times, curfew time, ryokan's telephone number, and directions. [Top]
