Welcome to the Hakone Fujiya Hotel. This Ryokan Hotel (see definition of ryokan styles below) has been in business since 1878, and it is one of the most famous hotels in the Hakone Area. Many of the buildings have been officially designated as "cultural assets" by Japan's Cultural Properties Protection Commission. There are a total of 5 lodging areas for guests: the Main Building, the Comfy Lodge, the Restful Cottage, the Flower Palace and the Forest Lodge. There are 146 Western-style guest rooms and 3 Japanese-style guest rooms (the Japanese-style guest rooms are in the Kikkaso, and the Emperor of Japan has stayed also here). All guest rooms have private indoor hot spring baths and toilets. There are 2 indoor hot spring baths for both women and men (same sex only), and a hot spring "family bath" which can be privately reserved for 45 minutes at 2,100 yen. Please ask for details at the front desk when checking in. Traditional Japanese Cuisine and French Cuisine are served to the guests at the Hakone Fujiya Hotel. Check-in time is after 2:00pm and check-out time is before 11:00am. Parking is available. Important Travel Warning: It takes a long time to go through customs at Narita International Airport and then travel to Hakone. If your plane lands in the early morning at Narita International Airport, you can make it to a Hakone ryokan in time for dinner. However, if your plane arrives after 10:00am you WILL NOT be able to make it in time for dinner. You should stay at least 1 night in Tokyo and then go to Hakone the next day. Ryokan Hotel
