Welcome to Chizuko Waller's "Tokyo Cultural Experience"
Are you tired of relying on guidebooks and stumbling around cities

experiencing the real Tokyo, let Chizuko Waller show you the heart

cities in Asia. Chizuko is an experienced cultural liaison who has worked
with some of the leading travel agencies in the United States,
and her customized tours will provide you with first-hand experience
of Tokyo's traditional and modern history, culture, and cuisine.
With Chizuko as your personal guide, she will also teach you how

#1 -Traditional and Modern Tokyo
Chizuko will first show you the vibrant traditional neighborhoods
of Tokyo. You will tour the original neighborhoods of Ueno, Yanaka,
and Nezu where some people still live in old, wooden houses and
work to preserve their traditional way of living. Chizuko will
guide you through the back streets and lanes and you will have
a chance to explore the old neighborhood temples, shrines, and
shops. You will also visit Ueno Park to explore the famous National
Museum as well as other museums in the area. In contrast, you will
explore the modern sections of Tokyo including the Ginza, Harajuku,
and the newly-constructed Roppongi Hills Complex and other interesting
areas. |

#2 -Tokyo Cuisine
Chizuko’s specialty is International cuisine, and you can
experience both traditional and modern Japanese food in her Tokyo
Cuisine tour. Starting
from Tokyo’s famous Tsukiji Fish Market early in the morning,
you will experience some lively market activity and see a wide
variety of seafood including big tunas in the “inner market” and
other fish in the fish shops of the “outer market”.
You will dine on a sushi breakfast with a hearty soup made from
wonderful seafood stock if you wish. After Tsukiji Market, Chizuko
will take you to the exclusive Ginza district where you will have
a chance to see the enormous department food floors.
You can also browse around Kappabashi where you will have a chance
to visit stores which sell kitchen products, cooking utensils,
and of course the popular plastic food displays. You will also
have the opportunity to dine on more recent “innovative Japanese
cuisine” using the highest quality and freshest ingredients.
Chizuko can also take you to see:
- Individual restaurant specializing in such delights as sushi,
tempura, "unagi" (eel), "yakitori" (chicken
shishkabobs), and "soba" (buckwheat) noodles.
- Japanese pastry shops
- Japanese "senbei" (rice cracker) shops
- Ceramic tableware, bamboo basket, and textile shops

#3 -Tokyo History and Architecture
Chizuko will take you to the Edo Tokyo Museum where you see the
different stages of the city's development. This is a wonderful
museum, and it will give you a good foundation and prepare you
to explore the city of Tokyo. After the museum, Chizuko will spend
the rest of the day guiding you around some original residences,
traditional and modern buildings designed by some well-known Japanese
and foreign architects. |

Kamakura, 1 hr. from Tokyo,
was once the setting of the federal government established in
1192. Surrounded by wooded mountains and Sagamii Bay, the city
has many renowned temples and shrines, and historical sites.
We can visit The Great Buddha, the colorful Tsurugaoka Hachiman
Shrine, the largest wooden Kannon in Japan, and Zen temples.
We can adventure on taking the Enoden, a local train, enjoying
the scenery as it changes from residential areas to the coastline,
and walking.
